How does DofE work?
You will choose activities in the three areas of DofE: developing a Skill, Physical Recreation and Voluntary Service. You then spend one hour per week on each of them. In total, DofE will take you three hours per week. In the end, you will go on an Adventurous Journey with your friends.
Volunteering
While volunteering, you can work on yourself, but also help others. You will need to develop your tolerance, responsibility, and patience. Volunteering is not only tutoring your classmates, but also cleaning the forest, working with children, helping in a food bank and much more. You can ask your Leader about other volunteering options.
Examples of activities
Physical Recreation
Doing a Physical Recreation activity will help you improve your performance and your health. Maybe you can work on your teamwork during volleyball, or meet new people during skating. You don’t have to be the best and win medals left and right, but you should want to push yourself a little further. You can also learn to live a healthier life.
Examples of activities
Skill
There are a lot of options to choose from in this area. From playing a music instrument or studying foreign languages to cooking or programming. You will set achievable goals, thus improve yourself, work on your talent, or acquire completely new skills. An important thing is that you will enjoy it.
