How does DofE work?
You will choose activities in the three areas of DofE: developing a Skill, Physical Recreation and Voluntary Service. You then spend one hour per week on each of them. In total, DofE will take you three hours per week. In the end, you will go on an Adventurous Journey with your friends.
While volunteering, you can work on yourself, but also help others. You will need to develop your tolerance, responsibility, and patience. Volunteering is not only tutoring your classmates, but also cleaning the forest, working with children, helping in a food bank and much more. You can ask your Leader about other volunteering options.Examples of activities
Doing a Physical Recreation activity will help you improve your performance and your health. Maybe you can work on your teamwork during volleyball, or meet new people during skating. You don’t have to be the best and win medals left and right, but you should want to push yourself a little further. You can also learn to live a healthier life.Examples of activities
There are a lot of options to choose from in this area. From playing a music instrument or studying foreign languages to cooking or programming. You will set achievable goals, thus improve yourself, work on your talent, or acquire completely new skills. An important thing is that you will enjoy it.Examples of activities
The Adventurous Journey is a challenge for you to overcome the fear of the unknown, as well as an opportunity to get out of the town for a few days with your friends, discover interesting places in the Czech Republic or abroad. The Adventurous Journey always has its purpose, for example mapping out the forgotten places, collecting plants (for your herbarium), or going down the river.Examples of activities

"For me, DofE has always connected, and still connects, the four most important areas of my life. Improving in the activities I enjoy, caring for those who have not been so lucky, contacting inspiring people and, last but not least, accepting new challenges. ”
"My goal at DofE was to cycle to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Thanks to that, I gained a lot of travel experience and learned things that I would not learn at school. I know that they will be useful to me mainly in my future job. "
"Our teacher told me about DofE and at first I thought it would be some nonsense. Then I set about it and found that it was a worthwhile program. In volunteering, I founded a non-profit organization that trains children in parkour. "
“The first time I encountered DofE was in England, and I liked the idea of doing activities that I normally do with a purpose. DofE helped me figure out what I wanted to do in the future, and now I study medicine.”
"I can't imagine my life without music, sports and the media. At DofE, I was able to focus on everything I enjoyed and also receive prestigious awards for it. Thanks to DofE, I also met Countess Sofia, the wife of the British Prince Edward. "
"I've been swimming since I was a child and I wanted to push myself a little further, so the idea arose to swim across Gibraltar. I was successful and thanks to that I received an invitation to dinner with the British Prince Edward, who leads DofE worldwide. I also learned a lot in the field of volunteering, where I trained the children's swimming club. "
