    Even the supporters of the DofE Award receive amazing awards!

    Jiří Zrůst, Senior Managing Director, Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets, Chairman of the Executive Board of the DofE Award in the Czech Republic and a member of the Executive Board of the DofE in the Slovak Republic received an honour of being included on the Financial News: „Extra Mile 40“ list. He was awarded for the great support he gives to the DofE Award in Czech Republic. Many thanks from us and congratulations!

    On 28 October 2015, the youngest Czech who completed the Tour Divide (4,418 km), twenty-year-old ultra biker Markéta Peggy Marvanová, celebrated her fantastic performance by handing over a special electric double-bike to Dája Málková, an 11-year-old girl suffering from myopathy. By her achievement, Peggy helped raise over CZK 75,000, enabling Dája to get her dreamed-of bike. It was a joy to see her first ride.

    The 2015 National Event proves a success. Thanks to everyone for participating The 2015 National Event of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award was held last weekend. The two days were packed with experiences, interesting personalities, workshops and getting to know other colleagues. The event took place on 16 and 17 October at the Semerink Hotel in the beautiful Jizerské Mountains and was attended by over fifty Award volunteers and young people from the Czech and Slovak Republics.

    The youngest Czech who completed the Tour Divide (4,418 km), twenty-year-old ultra biker Markéta Peggy Marvanová, is changing lives. By her achievement, she helped raise over CZK 75,000 for a special electric double-bike for Dája Málková, an 11-year-old girl suffering from myopathy. Peggy’s effort will be celebrated on 28 October by the handover of the special double-bike and a group ride.

    A weekend full of interesting activities, meeting new people, practical information and great experiences – this is the Award´s National Event. This year, it will take place on 16-17 October in the beautiful Janov nad Nisou. The National Event is open to all volunteers that are active in providing of the DofE Award. You can look forward to indoors and outdoors get-together and teambuilding activities, sharing experiences, possibility to consult with members of the National Office, and practical information and news about the Award.

    Macquarie Group Foundation supports the Czech DofE Award

    The Duke of Edinburgh´s International Award, Czech Republic (DofE) has received a donation of 450,000 CZK from the Macquarie Group Foundation to support its work with socially marginalised youth and widen the network of schools and other institutions involved in the Award Program.

    180 km-long swimming fundraiser for handbike is a success

    In July 2014, Lucie Leišová swam over the Strait of Gibraltar, as the youngest European. In July 2015, she made another long swim, this time down the Vltava River. This charitable project will raise funds through Konto Bariéry to Radek Duchoň for a handbike. In both challenges, Lucie was supported by The Duke of Edinburgh´s International Award (The Award), which helps children and young people develop their talents and fulfil their ambitions through activities and goals they choose themselves.
