New wind in the sails, thanks to Dutch windmills
A team of twenty participants, mostly DofE programme leaders from four countries, took part in a three-day training course in Woudenberg, the Netherlands. In a rural farm environment, they participated in workshops focused on motivating young people and exchanging experiences from their practice.
Read about the fourth international exchange of DofE leaders, supported by the Erasmus+ project "Non-formal learning in the formal education". The project participants themselves will tell you.
"Even a few days after the end of the international DofE meeting in the Netherlands, I am not able to fully understand its importance and positive impact. I was amazed to see the incredible passion of all participants for the good thing that the DofE price offers. The organizers did a brilliant piece of work in compiling the programme and great admiration deserves their sense of choosing a suitable place where everyone could get together, literally as a family, and develop their full potential, both during formal seminars and especially during informal sitting by the fireplace. We managed to create an atmosphere of growth and sharing.
The selection of guest speakers alone could not have been better. Their enthusiasm for the same thing, the zeal to lead the younger generations and together build a better future was pervasive. Having such a wonderful opportunity to meet people who are experienced, sensible and vision-driven in a quality discussion never has to be repeated. I am extremely grateful to have had the honor.
I see the opportunity to make contact with people of the same attitude as the greatest benefit that will certainly have lasting value. We have mutually agreed with several of them on the possibility of cooperation, not only in terms of personal visits, but above all on the level of establishing an exchange program between our institutions within the DofE programme.
A big thank you goes to Josef Nový, who took on the role of the leader of the "Czech" team absolutely perfectly. He constantly took care of us and was helpful."

"The educational exchange perfectly fulfilled my expectations. The organizers managed to create a balanced combination of an educational component and an informal part, where participants could exchange their experiences with DofE.
The professional part of the programme focused on the issue of youth motivation and brought an interesting insight into the topic thanks to a quality selection of trainers. We got acquainted with several theories of the phases of the motivational process. We were also equipped with communication techniques suitable for working with participants in the DofE programme.
The informal component of the training provided us with a space for sharing experiences, where we exchanged information on the situation in each of the four countries involved in the programme. It also brought the opportunity to establish cooperation at the national and international level.
Overall, I rate the whole stay as a unique opportunity to draw inspiration for further work, especially given the fact that we are just starting the programme at the Znojmo Medical School. The other programme leaders were happy to offer me their experiences and share their knowledge. "

"I am very grateful that I have had the opportunity to take part in an exchange in the Netherlands. The stay exceeded my expectations in all respects. The Dutch prepared a very varied programme for us, both the educational part, where we had the opportunity to draw a lot of inspiring information from the experience of other DofE leaders, as well as interesting workshops in the field of psychology, where we were thinking about motivation. Everything took a place in an informal and relaxed atmosphere, so the mutual sharing was very pleasant and enriching.
We also had a lot of great experiences during teambuilding activities and we had plenty of space to get to know each other and talk. I leave full of energy and look forward to further work with my DofE participants."
