Tomáš Vokáč

Executive Director
Tomáš has been the Executive Director at The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Czech Republic since 2015 and is responsible for the strategic development of the Award. Before, he worked for nearly 6 years as an Academic Director for the largest education company in the Czech Republic, Edua Group, where he led an international team of more than 500 instructors, methodologists, trainers and academic managers. Formerly he worked as the head of international cooperation and PR at Arts and Theatre Institute where he was responsible for promoting Czech culture abroad. He studied at Faculty of Arts at Charles University in Prague where he earned a PhD in Art History and Theory of art and culture and he led several lectures and seminars. He is actively engaged in leadership, coaching and mentoring as well as modern trends in youth and adult education.

Andrea Bittnerová

Development Manager
Andrea is a valuable member of the Programme Team responsible for The International Gold Event. Specifically, she oversees field visits for event participants to various centres including Children's Homes and Disability Centres. The aim of these visits is for participants to gain a deeper understanding about the practices in each centre. Away from her work with Duke of Edinburgh, she studies International Relationships at the Masaryk University in Brno. Formerly, Andrea was the National Representative for the Erasmus Student Network in the Czech Republic and has worked as English teacher.

Jana Sonntágová

Jana Sonntágová

Event Manager
Jana plays an important role organising gala ceremonies and other Duke of Edinburgh events. She is involved with the project's graphic identity and design, and creates video and photographic content. Jana’s organisation and creativity led her to work as Project Manager for Pragulic; a social enterprise that challenges the stereotypes associated with homelessness by enabling people to experience the world from their perspective through city tours. Jana is passionate about art and has a love for travel and round sunglasses!

Katka takes care of the local centres for the Duke of Edinburgh program in Moravia, Silesia and the Highlands. Katka supports the Program Coordinators and Program Leaders to carry out new programmes and adventure expeditions.

Soňa is our Queen of admin! Having completed the Gold Award, she is passionate about the programme and sharing her experiences so others can do the same. In the programme she juggled diablo, played football and volunteered in a local kindergarten. Soňa is currently an ambassador for The Duke of Edinburgh award and a Czech Language and Social Studies student at The Faculty of Education in Charles University.

Lucka took over the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award in June 2014 from the British ambassador Jane Townsend and the famous fisherman Jakub Vagner. She has been an active assistant to the Duke of Edinburgh national office and a founding member of the Alumni Club for 4 years. Lucka has already participated in three international events; an expedition in Ireland, a meeting of program graduates from several European countries, and international training that was part of her preparation for Duke of Edinburgh.

Pavla was presented the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award in 2008 and is currently working at the DofE Charity for the Czech Republic. In October 2014, the Czech DofE was represented at the International Gold Event - a traditional international meeting of DofE Gold graduates - held in South Korea. She is involved in the DofE Graduates Club.

Petr Kolařík

Petr Kolařík

Peter received the Gold Award from Prince Edward's hands in 2013. Since completing the award, he has gained extensive experience with managing Erasmus+ grant projects, organizing international events and youth work. Petrs work has been recognised with awards from the governor of the Zlín Region. In 2014 he accompanied students from Hong Kong to their golden residence in Prague and Moravia. After graduating from the Bachelor of Modern Languages in Great Britain and France, he is now studying interpreting at Charles University. As an ambassador he wants to convince young people that all dreams are feasible.

Michal is currently completing the Gold Award. As a passionate ambassador Michal presents to encourage new people and institutions to get involved with the program and is involved in other social events such as fundraising evenings. He loves tennis, mountain biking and skiing. He plans to further explore his excitement for architecture and product design at a university abroad.

Completing  the Silver award left Eliška excited for more. She is currently a participant in the Gold award. Whilst studying she sings in the girls' choir, attends Bikram yoga lessons, teaches foreign languages and volunteers. Her favourite part of the DofE, is the adventure expedition, this summer she will head to Slovenia with her team to carry out an expedition.
